Interrogating White Supremacy for Food Systems Change

Our Co-Founding Director, Rebekah Williams, was selected for Seeding Power, a nine-month, cohort-based fellowship program that interrogates white supremacy culture and uplifts equitable grassroots organizing and movement building for food systems change.

The Seeding Power Fellowship is an initiative of Community Food Funders and has goals of leadership development and movement building support to create more equitable food systems. The 2023-2024 fellowship cohort includes twelve food justice leaders working in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

In this iteration of the program, Community Food Funders commissioned a consulting firm, Emerging Equity, to design and implement the program. The relationship is a perfect fit because Emerging Equity uses a combination of equity, organizational development, and leadership development to coach organizations toward cultural transformation.

Community Food Funders and Emerging Equity launched the program in September.
