Since 2020, Open Buffalo, a nonprofit organization in Buffalo has served as Food for the Spirit’s fiscal sponsor allowing us to accept grants and donations to support our work. Open Buffalo’s mission is to advance racial, economic, and ecological justice through skill building, network connecting, and activating leadership opportunities. Their goal is for all communities in Western New York to thrive free from discrimination and poverty.
In November of 2023, Food for the Spirit received confirmation of our 501c3 status! Therefore, we are now transitioning away from our fiscal sponsor relationship with Open Buffalo.
We are deeply grateful for all Open Buffalo has done to help us get on our feet. Our sincere thanks and gratitude goes out to Franchelle Parker and Max Anderson, all of the Open Buffalo board of directors, and everyone there who has made our work possible these last few years.
